Tools With A Mission

Tools with a Mission (TWAM) is a charity which collects unwanted tools which are refurbished and then made up into kits relevant to various crafts.  These crafts include carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, construction work as well as sewing and knitting.

The kits are packed into containers and shipped to such countries as Rwanda and Uganda where they are used in Vocational Training Centres to teach young men and women to get employment or set themselves up in business.  After completing an apprenticeship a student is allowed to keep his donated tool kit.

Although the charity started 25 years ago and is based in Ipswich a Scottish branch is now located in an industrial estate in Cowdenbeath where the donated tools are refurbished by volunteers.  Tools are collected from all over the country again by volunteers.

Do you have any surplus or unused tools lying about that could be put to good use by this charity?

If so please contact Raymond Pilkington at church or via this website.
